Register of RF Workers Annual Meeting 2017

RRFW 2017

The National Register of RF Workers Annual Meeting is being held at the university of Birmingham on Wednesday 6th December. As per usual the event includes a number of guest speakers covering various EMF safety issues. It's free to attend but please make sure you contact us in advance and we will  arrange your attendance with the event organiser.

The aim of the Register is to provide a database of workers who are exposed to radio frequencies during their work for use in the investigation of any emerging health effects relating to that exposure. It's a worthy cause set up as a result of findings from the IEGMP or 'Stewart Report' and the University of Birmingham Institute of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (IOEM) would be delighted with any company support through sponsorship or simply engagement with your workforce to keep the database numbers growing.

CEMFAW Regulations 2016 training course

We've updated our EMF Directive 2013/35/EU trainining course to include the UK specific Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work (CEMFAW) Regulations 2016, which came into force on 1st July as the transposition of Directive 2013/35/EU into UK law.
Aimed at anyone who has to manage EMF safety in the workplace, the one-day course can be held in-house at Link Microtek, at customers’ premises or at any other location equipped with basic presentation aids.
Course topics include basic principles of electromagnetic energy, the effects of EMFs on the human body, the main provisions of the CEMFAW Regulations, EMF risk assessments, workers at particular risk (e.g. those with active implanted medical devices), exposure limit values and action levels, provisions aimed at avoiding or reducing risks, and real-world case studies.
To complement the CEMFAW Regulations course we also run a half-day EMF safety awareness course for workers in the telecommunications, broadcast, defence, medical, scientific and industrial sectors, which fulfils the regulations’ requirement for EMF worker training. A third course, on EMF safety measurements, is available for those who need to perform measurement-based EMF risk assessments. See the EMF Safety Training page for further information.
