Latest EMF Safety News

On behalf of IOSH (Institute of Safety & Health) we recently presented a webinar on the Control of EMF at Work (CEMFAW)Regulations 2016.

In the webinar we suggested the following sources of information:

Guide for SMEs (click here)

Whilst aimed at SMEs this sister publication to the main Practical Guide (listed below) provides an excellent overview for all. If you are just beginning your journey of EMF Directive enlightenment then start with this.

The EU Practical Guide to EMF Directive 2013/35/EU (also available on the above link)

The guide was written by Public Health England on behalf of the EU and comes in 2 volumes. Volume 1 contains general guidance and a really useful table of common work activities, equipment and workplaces that require further assessment (or not). Volume 2 has a series of case studies and it's worth checking if any relate to your own industry.

HSE guidance (click here)

The UK HSE published their own guidance to CEMFAW and it's worth noting there are some subtle differences between the EMF Directive and UK legislation so if you have any detailed concerns then it's worth checking out what the HSE have to say.

Link Microtek FAQs; there are some common issues so check out our FAQ section (on the dropdown menu from 'EMF Safety') plus previous blog pages to see if there is anything there. We mostly get involved with measurement based assessments so if that's what you're looking for we can usually help.

Last but no least if you need any further pointers then contact us by email or give us a call. One of the recurring themes driven by the EMF Directive & CEMFAW is that of training. We specilaise in EMF safety awareness training or measurement training so if you need any help on the subject just drop us a line.
