New ICNIRP guidelines

ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) have released their new radio frequency guidelines (100 kHz to 300 GHz) in draft form for comment.

Anyone interested should visit www.icnirp.org and download the consultation documents. The new reference levels are different (relaxed) at the low frequency end but above 30 MHz they remain the same. How this relates to EMF Directive/CEMFAW Action Levels is a little complicated but in essence if the new ICNIRP levels provide some relaxation for specific applications e.g. industrial equipment at 27.12 MHz or LF & MF broadcast the ICNIRP levels could be signposted as an alternate to the more restrictive Action Levels derived from ICNIRP 1998 & 2010. However if you have any comments please check the new document and provide feedback to ICNIRP via their consultation form before the cut-off date of 09/10/18.
