About the course
EMF Directive 2013/35/EU and the UK specific Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations 2016 have placed specific requirements on employers to provide appropriate training for EMF Workers. The Regulations also list what should be included in such training so it’s important to get it right (and many don’t).
However good EMF safety training doesn’t just go through a tick box series of deliverables. Because EMF safety is a niche technical subject it’s important that training addresses risk perception i.e. many workers worry unduly about a subject they don’t fully understand and are confused by some common urban myths. So rather than just treating EMF safety awareness training as a rubber stamp exercise make sure it provides your organisation with as many benefits as possible.
Make sure workers know enough to follow a sensible course of action regarding EMF safety that will save time and money in solving problems that aren’t there and for telecommunication companies it will mean you don’t have unnecessary stoppages because climbers and rooftop workers don’t understand how to use a personal mon-itor.A common senser is kassessment is much more important than just relying on a personal monitor and that assessment will most likely eliminate a lot of false alarms.
Our EMF safety awareness training takes about 3 hours to complete and can be performed at client premises or our site in Basingstoke. It’s suitable for workers in defence, satcom, telecommunications and broadcast industries but can be adapted for any specific application.
